Kolmi® qualitative Fit Test kit checks respirator fit, seal and comfort to ensure effective wearer protection.
The Kolmi® qualitative Fit Test kit ensures that a respirator mask is correctly adapted to the wearer’s morphology in terms of shape and size. It confirms the mask’s tightness and its effectiveness as a barrier between the wearer and a contaminated environment. The test also validates the correct positioning of the mask and assesses comfort to ensure that the user can work effectively. The protocol includes a sensory test phase without a mask, followed by a test with a mask including several standardized exercises.
- The fit test allows to determine if a respiratory mask is well adapted to the morphology of the person wearing it (shape, size…).
- It confirms that the respiratory mask provides a satisfactory seal or barrier between the wearer and the contaminated environment.
- It ensures that the wearer knows how to properly put on the respiratory mask.
- It helps determine if a respiratory mask will be comfortable and allows the wearer to perform their tasks.
PROTOCOL:
- The protocol consists of two phases:
Phase 1: Sensitivity test without a respiratory mask
Phase 2: Fit test with the respiratory mask (several exercises to be performed)
- The wearer must be clean-shaven in the morning.
- The wearer must not have smoked/vaped, eaten, drunk (except flat or sparkling water), or chewed gum 15 minutes before the test begins.
